Safety and Competence
As an NICEIC Approved Contractor, we are assessed regularly to ensure that we are competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards and codes of practice for electrical work.
Compliance with Building Regulations
Being a NICEIC Approved Contractor authorises us to self-certify our work to the relevant Local Building Control Body, where required. This saves you, the homeowner, both time and money when undertaking work that requires notification under Part P of the Building Regulations.

Warranty
Consumers employing a NICEIC contractor now benefit from the organisation’s Platinum Promise.
The Platinum Promise protects the consumer in the event that work undertaken by NICEIC contractors is not up to standard.
Should any work be found not to comply with the Building Regulations or relevant installation standards, NICEIC can instruct the contractor to go back and carry out the work to the required standard.
If the contractor is no longer in business or disputes the matter, the NICEIC will have the work rectified by another NICEIC contractor at no extra cost.
The promise is valid for up to six years from the date of the completion of the original work and covers work up to a maximum of £25,000 for any one installation.
Trading Standards Approved
Buy With Confidence is a national register of Trading Standards Approved businesses run independently by local authority Trading Standards departments. Over 60 British local authorities directly support the scheme, including East Sussex County Council.
About the Scheme
In response to concerns about ‘rogue traders’, which are often highlighted in the media, a partnership of Local Authority Trading Standards Services took the ground-breaking step of setting up the Buy With Confidence Scheme.
The scheme provides consumers with a list of local businesses which have committed to trading fairly. Every business listed has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved as a member of the scheme.
High Standards
Membership of the scheme is not given lightly. Applicants have their complaints history reviewed and are audited by a Trading Standards qualified person.
Good references are required from previous customers and applicants must agree to abide by the scheme’s code of conduct, which requires them to follow the letter and spirit of the law. Criminal records basic disclosure may also be required in some circumstances.
Only if all the scheme requirements are met, are businesses granted membership. Their performance is then kept under regular review. You can view our membership of this scheme here
